Supported by water. Strengthened through movement.
Aqua Yoga is a wonderfully supportive class for anyone looking for a gentler way to exercise, returning after injury or simply wanting to enjoy the unique benefits of movement in water.

Aqua Yoga combines simple, yoga-inspired movement with breath and awareness, adapted specifically for the pool.
The buoyancy of the water supports your body weight, while the natural resistance of the water adds another dimension to movement. This creates a low-impact way to work on strength, mobility, balance and coordination while allowing many people to explore movement with greater ease and confidence.
Rather than pushing or performing, the focus is on moving with awareness and working with the support of the water and your own body.
Classes are 45 minutes and begin with a gentle warm up. From there, we'll move through slow, guided, yoga-inspired movements adapted for the pool. You'll work on areas such as mobility, strength, flexibility and balance while being encouraged to move in a way that feels comfortable and appropriate for you. We finish with a calm, restorative relaxation in the water, giving you time to slow down and settle before leaving the pool.
I'm Zoë Smith, a Registered 500-Hour Yoga Teacher, qualified Aqua Yoga, Aqua Jog and Aquacise instructor and Exercise Referral specialist, with more than 20 years' experience across health, fitness and wellbeing.
Throughout my career I've worked with people with a wide range of abilities, health conditions and movement needs. That experience is particularly important in Aqua Yoga, where the supportive environment of the water can open up opportunities for people who may find some forms of land-based exercise more challenging.
My approach is always to help you work with your body rather than against it — building confidence in movement while making the class enjoyable too.
